AirTouch SAFETY CUTOUT

AirTouch Safety is Activated: Troubleshooting

A “Safety is Activated” message means AirTouch has detected that a temperature limit has been reached, triggering a built-in safety cutout. When this happens, it can affect how responsive the dampers are while the system holds in this protective state.

This can be a genuine response to a real temperature-limit condition, but it’s also commonly linked to a sensor connection issue rather than an actual overheating event. In particular, the supply air sensor and its wiring back to the mainboard are a common cause, and are best assessed by a technician.

Common Reasons You May See A Safety is Activated Error

  • A supply air sensor connection problem at the mainboard
  • A genuine temperature-limit condition being reached during operation
