AirTouch Home is a free upgrade that turns your AirTouch 5 into a whole-home smart hub. Rather than a separate device, it’s a mode you switch on within the app, giving you one place to control your air conditioning alongside compatible lighting, cameras, video doorbell, garage door and security sensors – complete with routines, scenes and geofencing. It’s exclusive to the AirTouch 5 and can be toggled on or off at any time.

No – AirTouch Home is a free in-app upgrade for AirTouch 5 owners, with no ongoing subscription. There’s no additional controller to buy. If you’d like to expand into smart security or automation down the track, you can add compatible AirTouch Secure devices such as cameras, a video doorbell or sensors, but the AirTouch Home platform itself is included at no cost.

Alongside your ducted air conditioning, AirTouch Home lets you manage lighting, video doorbell and cameras, your garage door, and door/window and motion sensors from the one app and wall console. You can group these into scenes and routines – for example, adjusting the temperature, dimming the lights and arming your sensors as you head out – and use geofencing so your home responds automatically when you arrive or leave.

Yes. If you already have an AirTouch 5 installed, you can switch on AirTouch Home through the app at no cost – there’s no need to replace your controller. If you’re still choosing between controllers, it’s worth knowing AirTouch Home is exclusive to the AirTouch 5. The AirTouch 5 is a smart home ready controller, being built on the Android operating systems means you can download applications from the Google Play Store to turn the AirTouch 5 into a smart home hub. Whereas, the AirTouch 2 Plus is just an air conditioning controller. Both controllers have mobile apps for iOS/Android devices. A Wi-Fi connection is needed for the aforementioned features.
