Panasonic ERROR CODE H98

Panasonic H98 Error Code Troubleshooting

An H98 code is a protection fault that triggers when the indoor unit is at risk of overheating, and it’s most commonly seen while a system is running in heating mode. It’s designed to stop the unit before internal temperatures or pressures climb too high.

This is generally an airflow problem rather than a serious mechanical fault, with restricted air movement through the indoor unit being the main trigger. A very warm room, or something blocking the unit’s air outlet or return, can have the same effect.

Common Reasons You May See An H98 Error Code

  • Dirty filters or a blocked indoor coil restricting airflow
  • Very high room temperature
  • A blocked air outlet or return on the indoor unit
