An F90 code relates to the power factor correction, or PFC, circuit inside the outdoor unit’s inverter board. This circuit board manages how electrical power is converted and supplied to run the compressor, and it’s a core electrical component rather than something a homeowner can inspect visually.
Because this fault sits at the electrical control level of the outdoor unit, it isn’t something that can be safely diagnosed or resolved without specialised test equipment. It generally points to a fault on the board itself, an electrical issue with the compressor, or a problem with the power supply reaching the outdoor unit.
Send us the code and a photo of the display, and a Ford & Doonan technician will get back to you. Please don't reset the unit before you take the photo.
