An H27 code could point to a fault with the outdoor air temperature sensor. This sensor sits on the outdoor unit and measures the surrounding air temperature, which the system factors into how it manages both heating and cooling performance.
When this sensor loses its connection or its contacts deteriorate, the outdoor unit can’t get a reliable reading and the fault is raised. As with the other sensor-related codes, it usually comes down to a connection problem rather than a major component failure.
Send us the code and a photo of the display, and a Ford & Doonan technician will get back to you. Please don't reset the unit before you take the photo.
