An E5 error code could signal that the compressor has tripped on overload, or that the inverter driving it has detected something abnormal. The compressor is effectively the heart of your air conditioner, so this fault is treated as a serious protective shutdown.
It can be caused by the compressor itself overheating or drawing too much current, a fault on the inverter board, or a wiring issue at the compressor’s electrical connections.
