  3. The condenser: Now that the refrigerant is in a high temperature, high pressure gas state, the condenser uses a fan to move air to cool and liquefy the refrigerant gas. From here, it’s onto the evaporator’s refrigerant control valve.
  4. Expansion valve: This valve turns the high pressure liquid refrigerant from the condenser and reduces the pressure to create a low temperature, low pressure refrigerant state. And from the valve change the refrigerant state, absorbing heat, as it passes through the evaporator.

What makes this entire system a “cycle” is how the refrigerant flows through the evaporator. After the evaporator, the refrigerant returns to the condenser to repeat the entire cycle.
