Some things to remember when running your air con in summer
Regular cleaning and servicing
If your a/c seems to be struggling to cool, maybe think how long ago it was serviced. The filters need cleaning every 3 – 6 months (depending on usage). If the filter is dirty, this will stop airflow efficiency, and your air conditioning will not cool as well as you’d like.
To clean your filter yourself, simply hose it down in the backyard, and leave it out to fully dry. Once it’s dry, pop it back and you’re good to go.
All return air filters should be replaced after 12 months so ensure maximum efficiency always. To replace your filter, give your local Ford & Doonan store a call.
Technical Issues
Oh how we love the summer storms! If a storm seems to have made your air con no longer wants to work, or if it’s just having one of those days, head outside to your outdoor unit. You’ll see an isolator switch. Turn the switch into the off position for about 3-5 minutes, and then switch back on. This will have rebooted your system which is most likely all that was required.
If that fails, give our Ford & Doonan service department a call, and one of our experienced technicians will be more than happy to assist.
