Ford and Doonan Air Conditioning was founded in 1985 by Andrew Ford and Kyle Doonan. The two partners still control the Ford and Doonan Group 25 years later.
Initially our company focus was on the provision of quality maintenance and repair work for existing air conditioning systems. However it soon became apparent that the majority of the work the company was being engaged for was the direct result of inefficient system design, poor quality equipment, use of inferior grade materials and fittings, substandard installation methods or a combination of any of these.
Hence, we recognised the need to offer an integrated service to our clients.
Following intensive research into the engineering design aspects of air conditioning systems, the decision was made to become a contracting company and branch into the field of system design, sales and installation.
Ford and Doonan clients can be confident that they not only receive an air conditioning system of the highest quality in design, equipment, materials and installation, but that it is backed by a proven record in competent after sales maintenance service.
In 1994, Ford and Doonan won the Western Australian Small Business Award for a business with less than 6 employees. In 1996 we were finalists in these Small Business Awards for a business with less than 50 employees and in 1997 we won the less than 50 employees category. Ford & Doonan was also named overall state winner and national finalist for 1997.
In 1998 Ford & Doonan were finalists in the Entrepreneur of the year.
More recently, we were named a BRW Top 100 fastest growing private company in Australia for the fifth successive year since 1998.
In 2001 we again won the West Australian Telstra Small Business Award for less than 50 employees and Andrew Ford, our Managing Director, won the Young Entrepreneur of the year, Western Region (Young Category) and then went on to compete in the national awards.
In 2003 Andrew Ford was named in the top 4 of the Business News top 40 under 40 awards.
Ford and Doonan have continued to build on their successful business strategy to become one of Perth’s leading air conditioning contracting companies. With 7 stores through out Perth and Southwest WA and a team of over a hundred people, Ford and Doonan is the only choice in air conditioning.
